- My GTi (82') has plenty of power to get 'off the line' at low
- RPM, though I think it may depend on driving habits to what you compare
- it to. I don't often use more than 2000 rpm to start.

- Its true of the higher end though, the engine really starts to
- surge at 4000 rpm and goes right up to 6000. Of course, take it to the end
- line (6300?) in one gear, drop to the next and you're at 4000 again....
