  14. Does anyone out there have any experience in replacing a 4-speed with a
  15. 5-speed in a Rabbit?

  17. I have changed the transmission already, replaced the left transmission mount,
  18. and the plastic-tipped shift linkages.  I've got 2 reverses, both in the
  19. wrong place, no first, maybe a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

  21. The 5-speed has just been rebuilt, so I don`t think that that's the
  22. problem.

  24. Does anyone know what else must be changed/adjusted to get this to work?

  26. This procedure is *fairly* common, once upon a time there were even
  27. kits that included all necessary parts.  My local VW dealer is no help.
