- They do not make a cat for the 8v engine right now, only the 16v. You can weld it in, but it is not a stock fit. They are working on the 8v ones,
- but don't have anything good right now. I believe even the 16v one is
- not that great, by their own recognition.

- I am having the same problem in my 86 GLI (rattle, loss of power) and my
- local CarQuest/Beck-Arnley distributor is getting me a cat for around
- $100 or so. I'll let you know the brand and so forth...
