- I had this problem too, and solved it with r.a.vw advice.

- I used WD-40 and white lithium grease aerosols. If you take off
- the outside door handle and the plate which carries the dead bolt on
- the edge of the door, and unscrew the inside locking button, you
- should get enough access (if not, you'll have to pop off the inside
- door panel, which is a minor hassle).

- Spray all parts with the lithium grease (it's kind of messy), work
- the mechanism back of forth, then reassemble. It worked like a charm.
