- Three-wheelin' is a fact of life on Golfs, Rabbits, GTIs, etc. Under
- hard cornering up comes the wheel. I would not go so drastic as
- to sell the car and buy a Porsche.....unless you have $$$$$, then what
- the hell.
-
- I have an 83 GTI which is autocrossed in E Prepared. It has 25/28mm
- swaybars, Koni shocks set almost to full stifness, as well as lowered
- springs (almost 2"), and under heavy cornering it lifts the wheel
- at least 1" to 2". The ride in this car would be totally unbearable
- on the street.
-
- My 86 has had the Koni shock kit with the lowered springs as well as
- the Neuspeed bars. It raised its wheels during autox as well as street
- driving. Under hard cornering, during competition (so as not to offend
- those "anti-three wheel while driving on the street types"), I have
- NEVER experienced any problems with braking or control.
-
- On my wife's 88 GT with stock springs and Bilstein Shocks, while
- autocrossing on three wheels, again the same thing.
-
- All in all...don't worry about it!
