- Just a word of warning for you VDub owners out there:
-
- When it's been really rainy and wet, don't use your emergency
- brake when the car is parked. Apparently, the wetness can
- cause the rear brakes to stick in place to the brake drums.
- Makes driving impossible.
-
- If this happens to you, adjust the brakes all the way out (away
- from the drums), and whack the inside of the wheel with a hammer
- in hopes of freeing them up. They open up the wheels, and see
- if the brakes have freed. Don't forget to adjust the brakes
- back near the drums when you're all done.....
-
- Or, just get it towed to the local VW place and pay $37 like I did. :-)
-
- The wetness explanation was from the VW place. And, I was trying
- to blame that earthquake.
-
-
- Sure wish I'd known about this...
