  12. Just a word of warning for you VDub owners out there:

  14. When it's been really rainy and wet, don't use your emergency
  15. brake when the car is parked.  Apparently, the wetness can 
  16. cause the rear brakes to stick in place to the brake drums.
  17. Makes driving impossible.
  18.  
  19. If this happens to you, adjust the brakes all the way out (away
  20. from the drums), and whack the inside of the wheel with a hammer
  21. in hopes of freeing them up.  They open up the wheels, and see
  22. if the brakes have freed.  Don't forget to adjust the brakes 
  23. back near the drums when you're all done.....

  25. Or, just get it towed to the local VW place and pay $37 like I did.  :-)

  27. The wetness explanation was from the VW place.  And, I was trying
  28. to blame that earthquake.
