- I have been looking at speakers lately and have found almost
- nothing acceptable in my price range. However, I have now found a
- pair of Thiel CS2's used for what seems like an incredible price.
- Note that these are not the new CS2 2's, but rather their
- predecessor model, and are several years old to boot.
-
- I have not yet listened to them, and would like some general
- comments. My highest priority is an accurate midrange - I'm very
- fussy about this, and cannot tolerate any boxiness, thinness, or
- other coloration. The rest of the range of the speaker should be
- tonally very accurate, as well, but I am willing to forgive some
- slight muddiness in the bass. Soundstaging is a secondary
- consideration, not nearly as important as tonal accuracy.
-
- Are Thiel speakers generally dependable? Are they going to break
- as soon as I get them home? What kind of power is required to
- drive these babies?
-
- Thanks,
- Marc
