- It depends on the country. In the US, patents pending are confidential between
- the Patent Office and the inventor. If the patent is denied, the invention
- remains confidential. It is only disclosed if the patent is granted. This
- is not true in some other countries, where the invention becomes public whether
- the patent is granted or denied.
