  24. Only in your clouded, presumptive, ideologically biased perspective.  The
  25. objectives of multicultural education are principally to: 1) provide for
  26. students a view of cultures other than their own, so that they may be better
  27. able to understand and appreciate the cultural perspective of those peoples, and
  28. 2) provide for students who may not have a good exposure to their own culture a
  29. better understanding of their heritage and history, so that they can see what
  30. role their ancestors played in getting the world to where we are.  Inclusion is
  31. also a primary means for building trust and reinforcing the ties that do bind
  32. our body politic.

  34. So, did you have a bad experience with some teacher who insisted black is better
  35. or some other such aggrandizement, or has someone just been stuffing your head
  36. full of half truths?

  40. Nothing I've said should suggest anything different than that.  They all have
  41. their good points and their bad points, and as long as those points are not
  42. coincident, we have something to learn from other cultures as well as something
  43. to teach.  And once again, that's what multiculturalism is all about.
