- The statistics for sponges are not good at all. In fact, it's one of
- the least reliable methods. The best thing you can say about them is
- that they're slightly more effective than the rhythm method. They are
- particularly bad for parous women who delivered vaginally, since that
- makes it harder to get a snug fit. Condoms, while a drag, are very
- effective when used properly.
