  26. While I can understand your concern about AIDS and all, I don't
  27. think this is particularly good advice. The boys in the original
  28. post were, what, 11 years old? And while you could argue that kids
  29. are having sex earlier&earlier, I would counter-argue that telling
  30. an 11 year old boy's mother that you saw him engaged in sexplay with
  31. one of his male friends would be _A LOT_ more harmful than helpful...
  32. as one poster previously mentioned, this sort of thing is really 
  33. common at that age (I did it myself), but it's not the kind of thing
  34. a parent wants to be confrontational about (unless the kid starts 
  35. doing it at the dinner table or something)(even now, at my advanced 
  36. age of 33, I'm mortified to think of how my mom would have reacted
  37. if I'd been caught; probably would have warped me for life).

  39. Perhaps a "stealthy" approach would do the most good: instead of
  40. "You know, I saw your son engaged in mutual masturbation with his
  41. friend William", how about "You know, your son's 11 years old now...
  42. I read something somewhere about how that's about when boys start
  43. discovering their sexuality etc. With AIDS and all, maybe you and
  44. his father should consider having "a little talk" with him about
  45. sex."
