- Folks,
-
- Here's a hypothetical scenario. X, a person, has $20K to invest. X
- currently has $10K in a money market, currently returning near-to-nothing,
- and the other $10K in a conservative mutual fund returning 10% anualized
- over the last five years. Sometime in the next two to three years X would
- like to purchase a house and so will need a sizable amount of cash for a
- down payment at that time.
-
- Could X "do any better" in the meanwhile (in a risk-adjusted sense) by
- moving some of that $20K to other instruments? What portfolio would you
- suggest that X consider?
-
- Thanks,
- Kevin
