- Yes, this is a good way to do it. But it is not the same as buying at 40. You might miss a big up move in the stock:

- Suppose the stock goes below 40 and then back above 40 before the expiration of
- the put. Then suppose the stock really takes off, say to 60.

- In this situation, your put-writing strategy does not get you into the stock.
- You only make your $600. If you bought the stock at 40, you would make $6000.

- So you will only get the stock if it is below 40 at expiration, whereas the open
- order to buy at 40 will get you the stock anytime it goes below 40. If you are a
- genius stock-picker, you will miss out on a lot of profit!
