- The lunge is like a genuflect (Roman Catholics can relate :-)), but with
- weights, usually.... you put one foot forward and come down until your
- back knee just touches the floor. You do so many with one leg forward,
- then switch legs, and do so many on the other.
-
- The power clean is the first part of the "clean ands jerk" movement.
- You pull the bar forcibly, "with everything you got", as high as you
- have to in order that you can get your hands/shoulders _under_ it before
- it starts to come back down. This is a great power builder, but I cannot
- see this as being any easier on your knees than squats.
-
- As far as glute development, your comments suggest that you are trying to
- some fat in this area. If that be the case, then you would have more success
- by adding/increasing the aerobics in your workout schedule and watching the
- fats/sweets in your diet. In my rather biased opinion, cycling has got to
- be one of the best quad-shaping/butt-reducing activities known to man!
- By all means, give it a try, and _seek out_ those hills :-).
