- I have had occasion to train with a variety of poeple in my time, but this
- one in particular, still amazes me to this day. For the life of me right
- now, I cannot think of her name.... only that she was a girlfriend of my
- SO of the time. She stood about 5'2" (probably more like 5'0"), and she
- weighed about 130 lbs. She did not really look fat, nor especially muscular.
- If anything, she looked just-a-little pudgy, and younger than her 22 years.
- I became acquainted with her through my SO, and she found out that I was into
- weight training. She expressed an interest in training with me, and we did so
- for a few sessions, until my SO became more-than-a-little vocal with her
- objections (y'see, she was a jealous type). Anyway, we spent the better part
- of this time just trying to determine how strong she was. We did this by way
- of deadlift poundages. After about three weeks of "ramping up", this little
- baby-doll-lookin' young woman was pulling 300 lbs. in the deadlift. I still
- do not know just how strong she was, as 300 lbs. was all of the iron that I
- had at that time. Bear in mind that we are talking about a young woman who
- was basically untrained (as far as weight-training) at this point. I can
- hardly imagine what she might be able to do with a coupla' years worth of
- hard training under her belt.
