- I have a story that should amuse the fat/calorie counters among the group.
-
- As part of my efforts to avoid turning into a blob as I get older I
- limit my fat intake to 20-30g per day in addition to exercising.
-
- I work at a health food store on campus most of the day where I take
- at least lunch and sometimes breakfast.
-
- We got a product called "Veggie Pockets" in. Basically a piece of
- bread with various stuffings baked into it. They didnt have any
- nutrition info on the label ( good reason for it ), but getting
- sick of what I could quickly make I would frequently eat 2-3
- per day last semester. I was very frustrated with my slow weight loss.
-
- Well, our distributor mailed me a copy of the nutrition information
- he extorted from the manufacturer. It turns out that each of these
- "Veggie Pockets" had at least 13g of fat in it! There I was eating
- two ( very unfilling ) for lunch 2-3 times a week while trying to
- keep my fat intake down to 30g!
-
-
- Beware of unlabled packaged food. Dont ever assume it is lowfat no
- matter what the ingredients say.
