- This ties in with the recent discussion on 100 year old houses.
-
- My new home is 100 years old, and the windows are in bad shape.
- Some have broken panes, some stick, the locks are misaligned, they
- have 20 coats of paint, the paint is chipped, the color is horrible, etc.
-
- I'm looking for suggestions on easy, moderate, and difficult rehabilitation.
- Easy would be something like fix panes and paint, where harder repairs
- might involve removing and possibly stripping (dipping?) the window.
- What's a sensible order of tasks?
-
- What would you suggest for stripping paint off a window (frame, mullions)
- in place?
-
- Thanks for the tips.
