  18. Six Smoke Detector Brands Recalled: Washington (AP) -
  19.  
  20. Federal regulators announced that six brands of battery
  21. operated smoke detectors are being recalled because they
  22. may not sound an alarm during a fire. The Consumer Product
  23. Safety Commision said anyone who purchased a smoke detector
  24. after July 10, 1992 should check the unit immediately to see if
  25. it is involved in the recall. The detectors were made by the 
  26. Seatt Corp. Their brand names and model numbers are:

  28. Black and Decker Slim Line, SMK100-200-300
  29.  
  30. Jameson Home Products Inc. Code 1 2000, Model A, C, and D.
  31.  
  32. Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc. Kidde Smoke and Fire Alarm, KSA700

  34. Safety First, Baby's Room Smoke & Fire Alarm, 244
  35.  
  36. Funtech, Safety's Sake, Model A
  37.  
  38. Maple Chase, Firex, Model A and B
  39.  
  40. Owners of the Black & Decker units should call (800) 952-1331 or return
  41. the smoke detector to a Black & Decker service center.
