  17. I've heard, every now and then, on the local Pacifica radio station
  18. (WBAI), some of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s later speeches.
  19. They always seem to be available recorded only if you join as a
  20. member during the membership drive when they're being played, and
  21. since I already am a member of WBAI, this doesn't help.  I'm
  22. particularly interested in one he gave in February or March 1968
  23. to members of Local 1199 (Drug & Hospital Workers Union) in New
  24. York City, in which he talks about, among other things, the Poor
  25. People's Campaign which he was then organizing.  I heard parts of
  26. another one on Mon. 18 January on WBAI, although I missed the where/
  27. when of it.  Does anyone know where I can find texts or recordings
  28. of these?  They clearly show that Rev. Dr. King wasn't the vague
  29. dreamer of some sort of touchy-feely love-your-neighbor paradise
  30. that the established mass media portray him as, but rather that he
  31. had a deep and incisive critique of the American political and
  32. economic system and of American militarism and that he demanded
  33. radical changes.
