- I ran our current compiler (Cygnus-2.3.3) against the sources you
- enclosed in your message, and I found that it worked for all 3
- versions of main.C (main.C, bak2, and bak3). I suggest you forward
- this message to your professor and have her (or him) ask the computer
- service people to update the compiler you have installed at UCSC.

- The version they would upgrade to is GCC 2.3.3. It looks like
- you tried it in a Cygnus offshoot version, not the current release.
- Do you know whether it works in the current release?
