- I write in French, using ISO 8859-1 alphabet. The only way I know to
- insert accented characters in emacs is with quoted-insert (e.g. C-q
- 351 for e with acute accent). I have to agree with Joe that the
- current behavior of quoted-insert in overwrite-mode is a bug, or
- misfeature if you like. The important is that is should be changed
- for the sake of consistency and usefulness.
