  19. I am in the process of configuring some systems as X terminals here
  20. (PC-class machines and Sun-3 workstations running Seth Robertson's
  21. Xkernel setup).  I'd like some help with this, as I'm just an
  22. astronomer trying to get some work done, not a systems guru.

  24. Basically, I'd like xdm (or chooser) on our file/compute server to put
  25. up its window essentially automatically when the X servers are
  26. started.  I see that on the Sun-3 "X terminals" I can do this with the
  27. "-indirect" or "-query" switch on the server, but I assume I need an
  28. entry in /etc/services to enable XDMCP.  What might this be?  How do
  29. I specify the path to the xdm and chooser binaries?

  31. The PC-class machines are harder.  The X server I use most, the
  32. GfxBase one for the Amiga, doesn't have the -interactive switch.  Is
  33. there some safe way to essentially do an "anonymous rsh" to start xdm
  34. (or chooser) on the file server pointed at the X server on the Amiga
  35. (and other PC-class machines to arrive soon)?
