- I have recently posted the following:
-
- Amir> Xperts,
- Amir> We have recently received Motif 1.2 (from ICS). I've noticed that the
- Amir> long-promised sticky menus do work. However, the documentation for mwm that
- Amir> comes with the release does not hint that it is even possible to make mwm's
- Amir> popup menus stick around.
- Amir>
- Amir> Anyone?
-
- The only net response came from Skip Montanaro (montnaro@ausable.crd.ge.com)
- which thought it was doable. Alas, his suggestion did not work. So I called ICS
- Tech Support and here's their official response:
-
- ICS> After speaking with OSF, tear-off menu functionality is unavailable
- ICS> for pop-up menus (defined in your app) or for the root menus (defined in
- ICS> .mwmrc or system.mwmrc ). This functionality is planned for the next
- ICS> major release of Motif which doesn't have a date or release number yet.
- ICS> However both ICS and OSF appreciate this question as we feel it is excellent
- ICS> as well as interesting.
