  33. The problem with your analogy is that SCO is a *subset* of Dell, while
  34. in your example, each car has mutually exclusive features. Thus it
  35. really doesn't make sense to spend a fixed amount and get less! Even
  36. if you don't need the features now, why pay for them later if you need
  37. them?

  39. The reason people keep asking Fred about what's in the SCO base release
  40. is not because they want to show him that it lacks features (which he
  41. seems to perpetually defend by pointing at his user base), but to show
  42. him the same features plus more can be had for the same price. This is
  43. not a technical issue, it's a value issue. This thread will never die
  44. unless people realize this.
