- I'm trying to adapt a style file so that footnote numbers will
- renumbered from 1 on each page. What I'm using is
- \@addtoreset{footnote}{page}. However, on some pages, the footnote
- numbers appear out of order (e.g. 2 3 1 instead of 1 2 3), or
- duplicate footnote numbers appear (e.g. 1 1 instead of 1 2). This
- generally happens when the first footnotes are near the top of the
- page, so it makes me think that those footnotes are being numbered as
- if they were on the previous page. This happens even after I've run
- the file through LaTeX several times. Can someone suggest a way to do
- things so this does not happen?
-
- Also, I want to specify that footnotes absolutely may not run on to
- the next page. I am willing to put up with underfull pages in order
- to get this. How should I do it?
-
- Thanks,
- Janet
