- Hello World,
-
- The metrics for the builtin LJ3/4 fonts that I distributed recently were in
- error. If you are interested in using the metrics, please retreive
- ibis.cs.umass.edu:/pub/norm/hptfm2pl/HPLJ3/fix*.zip.
-
- I failed to notice that HP distributed two versions of the font metrics for
- the fixed sized fonts (Courier and Line Printer): version 1.0.1. and version
- 1.2.0. Because of the way I built the metrics, some of the PL files come from
- the 1.0.1 metrics and some come from the 1.2.0. metrics. The 1.0.1 metrics do
- not conform to the HP TFM specification (as I understand it) and the result is
- that some metrics have depth=0 for all of the characters.
-
- The new metrics correct this problem. I am distributing both versions of
- the PL files (although I can think of no reason why you would want the
- old metrics). The names of the metric files are:
-
- tttSSSnn
-
- or
- 0ttSSSnn
-
- Where 0 = this file comes from the 1.0.1 metrics
- ttt = typeface
- SSS = symbol set
- nn = design size (truncated to integer)
-
- Be seeing you...
- norm
-
- P.S. NB: only the fix-pl.zip and fix-tfm.zip files have changed. You do
- not need to retreive all of the files in HPLJ3/* if you have already have
- the metrics for the scalable fonts.
