  13. I'm using for a short time DMxxx.tfm instead of CMxxx.tfm with emTeX in
  14. order to get correct hyphenation for accented french words. Dvi-files
  15. built with these "virtual fonts" have then to be converted with a special
  16. tool into the normal CM-dvi-files (in order to be printed with the classic
  17. CM-fonts).

  19. Now I would like to know:
  20. 1. Does there exist any documentation about virtual fonts ?
  21. 2. Is the coding scheme of DM-fonts exactly the same as for the extended
  22.    DC-fonts ?
  23. 3. How to tell METAFONT that the font you want to create is virtual ?
  24. 4. What are *.vf files for ?
