- I have found that the auto numbering of chapters is not always reliable.
- What happens is that when a book is generated, some or all of the files (chapters) increase like they are supposed to and some do not. So I might have
- the following result:
-
- Chapter 1
- Chapter 2
- Chapter 2
- Chapter 3
-
- Instead of Chapter 1
- Chapter 2
- Chapter 3
- Chapter 4
-
- I called Data General about this at least 6 months ago and after painstakingly
- going over all the numbering tags, generation methods, etc. said that it was
- a bug and it would be reported to Frame Technolgies. Has anyone else had
- this problem? What we do now is actually hard code the number in a chapter
- into the files so that we don't have this problem. I guess the worst part
- about it is sometimes the auto numbering works and then the next time you
- generate the exact same book, it might not.
-
- By the way, does someone from Frame Technoligies monitor this group? If so,
- do you know about this?
-
- Thanks,
- Alice
