- We have a SS10 model 30 with a lot of memory (320MB), yet the system
- spends a noticable amount of time swapping jobs. Is there a way to
- configure the swapping parameters to keep things in memory longer?
- We are running 4.1.3 with 40 to 50 users.
-
- The man page for "sticky" states:
-
- If the sticky bit is set on a regular file and no execute
- bits are set, the system's page cache will not be used to
- hold the file's data.
-
- Does this mean the system would benefit from setting the sticky bit
- on commonly used programs, emacs, vi, csh, tcsh, in.telnetd?
-
- Any pointers to RTFM are welcome :-)
