- Eric,
-
- 80% of all network problems can be directly related to the media(wire).
-
- Go out and spend the bucks for a NEXT Scanner from Microtest.
- Anixter sells them, Kent Electronics sells them.... hell, everybody
- sells them. That is the handheld device....... It will even
- print out certifications.....
-
- My guess is your problem is related to loose connectors or kinked
- cable.... I HATE COAX... budget for 10BaseT as soon as possible and
- switch to it......
-
- If you cannot find the problem with a NEXT scanner, you may have to start
- isolating pieces of cable until the problem goes away..... It will
- give you a starting point... I know this seems obvious.... but sometimes
- when all HELL breaks loose the obvious is soon forgotten.....
-
- Good Luck......
-
-
- I've been there man, and sympathize....
