- To The Point: I work for a Novell reseller who, up till now, has only
- worked in DOS only environments. Now, we have two days to prepare a
- bid on a system involving DOS, Macs, and a Sun Workstation. What
- I'm interested in is any advice or rule-of-thumb documents (or any
- other ftp'able documents that will help) on the following subjects.
-
- 1: The current state of Mac-to-Netware interconnectivity. Last time
- I checked, it required a dedicated 'router'. I'm pretty sure that
- 3.11 now has NLM's that will handle this, but I need to find out for
- sure, and find out what the memory and other requirements are.
-
- 2: Same for NFS interconnectivity, emphasis on WS accessing Novell
- FS, but also interested in other machines accessing the Sun WS.
-
- 3: Removable SCSI drives. Due to onsite security regulations, it
- will be necessary to secure the FS hard drive in a safe. How well
- does 3.11 handle removable media? I understand that 4.0 does, but I'd
- like to be able to know what can be done with what is out now.
-
- Please reply as soon as possible, my boss dropped this in my lap a
- few minutes ago.
