- Hello,
-
- We provide cdrom services to some public workstations in our library
- from SERVER1. Of course there are students who shell out of some of
- these applications and login to another server on the net (ie: SERVER2
- where they have an account). We want to prevent users on the public
- machines from accessing servers other than SERVER1.
-
- As far as I can see there are two ways to do this;
-
- 1) A menu system which prevents shelling to DOS (even from an
- application called from the menu). I think Direct Access may do this but
- I have yet to investigate.
-
- 2) Alter accounts on other servers to grant access only from designated
- addresses. This presents a significant management task which I'd like
- to avoid - in fact it will be unmanageable.
-
- Can anyone recommend a solution to prevent identified workstations from
- accessing specific servers?
-
- Thanks in advance...
-
