  13. We have a Unix network with Sun's and NeXT machines mixed together, with
  14. home directories on the NeXT hard disks.

  16. Apparently, date stamping works incorrectly when setting  stamps
  17. explicitly, instead of inheriting the dates from the file system.
  18.  
  19. Touching a file yields a date of January 1 1970, which is somewhat
  20. incorrect.   I *think* this is date Zero, but why should that be?

  22. Anybody got any suggestions for circumventing this problem?
