- We have an NCR 3445 running SVR4.0 release 2.0. I have compiled and
- installed a number of PD applications on this machine, including
- nntpd. NNTPD is installed under inetd using the following
- configuration file line:
-
- nntp stream tcp nowait news /usr/etc/nntpd nntpd
-
- Unfortunately, NNTPD seems to panic trap the 3445 when it is running.
- While I have not been able to track this down specifically to an
- individual NNTP protocol command being executed, it is definitely
- related to nntpd. As evidence I put forward that I turned nntpd off
- for a couple of weeks and the system never crashed. Within seconds of
- turning it on again and using it, the system crashed. Bringing the
- system back up and trying again resulted in yet another crash.
-
- Right now it is disabled, but I would really like to use it locally.
- Has anyone else run into this problem? Could anyone give me some
- pointers?
