- I am trying to specify an NCR system that we can use to connect to another
- system using X.25 LAPB. The NCR 3000 must act as host. THe
- connection must be direct-connect or dialup. I've worked for about three
- weeks with a VAR trying to get information on NCR's offerings. I've
- contacted NCR's consultant relations, but have not gotten a response yet.
-
- Can someone recommend an NCR contact who could help with this? It appears
- to be over the heads of the persons I have spoken with so far, as well as
- mine. I think the 3000 production is in Columbia, so that's probably where
- all the gurus are.
-
- So far I (think I) know the following:
-
- I need:
-
- MPCA/MC Board
- X.25 HOST PAD (??)
- Modem and cable (Anything special here?)
-
- Does the HOST PAD provide a programmer's interface for getting at the X.25
- frames at the "user" program level, similar to the BSC driver interface
- library? I need to be able to get the frame and pick out the data. No
- actual terminal user sessions involved. The 3000 need not even have a
- terminal attached other than for console user purposes.
-
- Note that there is not an IBM system involved here at all. Are the SNA
- Svcs required for any reason whatsoever?
-
- Thanks,
-
