- Installing operating systems is NOT EASY. It took me an entire day to
- get solaris 1.1 loaded. It took another day to figure out how to get
- openwindows loaded. Of course I didn't have any manuals...

- Everything is simple once you know how to do it. I agree that it
- can appear complicated the first few times it is done. However, the
- MGC install program allows you to install a HUGE number of individual
- products. Each of which is an application in its own right. The
- number of potential combinations of product installation, configuration
- location on the network, ... etc, make the process complex. Unlike
- other single application installation programs the version 8.0
- install works over the network, can install to multiple machines,
- and allows the administrator to save the install configuration for
- later installs. When you have done it once you will find it easy
- to do the next time.
-
- Is the Mentor version 8 install perfect? No, but it does its job well
- considering the complexity of what it must do.
