- Hi All,
-
- I was wondering if anyone could answer a question about
- my IIsi. I just added a Daystar Cache Card and Duel Port
- Adapter to my IIsi. After putting the cover back on, my
- sound stopped working. When I switched the card in and out,
- the sound would sometimes be on, sometimes be off. It did not
- seem to matter whether the card was in or out. I then tried
- to hook up headphones and they seemed to work although the
- sound only comes out one side. Shouldn't it come out both?
- I thought the IIsi had stereo output. The beeps that the
- Mac generates come out both channels but games (such as Hellcats)
- only come out one side...The sound also has some static sometimes.
-
- Any theories as to what happened? I know the IIsi has some
- speaker problems. A repair place here in town was telling me that
- I probably have a bad sound chip and that it would be $250 to fix it.
- I think a just broke a weld putting the cover back on but I do not
- know. I did wear a grounding strap and was very cautious of static
- when I installed the card. Any and all theories would be welcome.
- Please e-mail if possible. Thanks!
