  30. Make sure you have a good backup copy of the original.

  32. Open AppleShare in ResEdit.
  33. Double-click on DITL.
  34. Double-click on ID -902.

  36. From the DITL menu, choose Select Item Number...

  38. You'll then see a box asking Select which item?
  39. (Between 1 and N)
  40.     N=8 for AppleShare 2.0.2 (System 6)
  41.     N=9 for AppleShare 3.0.0 (System 7)

  43. Enter 8.  [Nothing appears to happen.]

  45. Now, from the Resource menu, choose Open as Dialog Item

  47. See the little box in the lower left that says Enabled?
  48. Click it to make the X go away.

  51. Since it's notverynice to give subtly modified software to users,
  52. increase the Right: edge from 322 to 354, and add  (Disabled)
  53. to the end of the Text: string.  [You might also want to leave
  54. "footprints" in vers, while you're at it.]
