- Well, Adam, I also live in Columbus, OH, and I know who you're talking
- about. I *won't* buy hardware from them. Period. I get sick every time I
- go ito their mac section. I almost always have to help some poor soul that
- the salesman just screwed. They no have AT-ease on all the machines, so
- there's no use playing on the new ones, you can't get a feel for the
- machine.
-
- I can tell stories. Oh yes.
-
- I overheard one salesman tell someone that there was no '040 option for
- the Mac. (This was pre-quadra, but post rocket). The guy interested owned
- a SparcStation, and was definately willing to buy something he needed now.
- The salesman had never heard of the rocket.
-
- I overheard someone looking for a cheap term-program, to call CompuServe
- with. The salesman suggested either White Knight or Microphone II. I
- suggested Z-term, or calling CIS and getting CIM for free! The salesman
- had heard of niether.
-
- I wrote a letter to MC's management. I got a call back, asking why I was
- so angry, and what they could do. I told them that making sure that theior
- salesmen had some basic knowledge of the machine they're selling would be
- nice. They asked how they could do this. I suggested that their salesmen
- might actually read MacWorld. They gave me some story about how that was a
- good idea, but MW didn't give them free subs to give to their salesmen.
- Jeez.
-
- Some dealers are bad, this place is despicable.
