- According to who? What is the basis for this alert? Has anyone reputable
- confirmed it? And even if someone has just what are we supposed to do about it
- anyway? This message provides NO useful information.
-
- Please don't pass on unconfirmed rumors about new viruses. If
- there is detailed information available then provide it. Otherwise stay quiet.
- If you have reason to believe you've discovered a new virus (which I gather
- from your post you haven't) then you need to privately discuss the possibility
- with local gurus and if they agree with you (or if you are the local guru) then
- you need to talk with the appropriate anti-virus experts. On the Internet that
- means particularly John Norstad (j-norstad@nwu.edu) and Chris Johnson whose
- E-mail address I don't have handy but is probably in the GateKeeper docs.
- If they confirm the virus, then they will send a message to
- comp.sys.mac.announce. Otherwise all that happens is useless
- paranoia gets spread.
