  21. I've received three replies, and the situation remains confusing.

  23. I'll summarize and then end with a question --
  24.     Is there an ftp'able Photo-JPEG decompressor available outside 
  25.     Quicktime 1.5?

  27. Two replies, from Craig Steele (steele@vlsi.cs.caltech.edu) and Maynard
  28.  Handley (maynard@lynx.msc.cornell.edu), explained that Quicktime 1.5
  29. solves  the problem, and that QT 1.5 runs for them under System 7.0.1.

  31. It seems that 20 of the photos are in Quicktime PICT format, for which 
  32. Quicktime 1.0 is sufficient. The 5 that I can't see require both
  33. Quicktime  and a Photo-JPEG decompressor (which is apparently in QT 1.5).

  46. Moreover, Maynard Handley, who sees all the images with QT1.5 under
  47. 7.0.1, wrote that he has "an SE/30 so earlier ROM rev than a IIci."

  49. I myself have not been able to run QT1.5 under 7.0.1.  It refuses to
  50. load  (even with no other extensions around except tuneup 1.1.1). 
  51. Could this be because I run the Icelandic version of 7.0.1?
