- Exactly how many "poor students" do you think there are? How many of
- them will buy Macs? If 100% of them bought this PB, it probably still
- wouldn't be worth Apple's while.

- (Snicker) If I bought a PowerBook as a student, I sure as hell
- would've wanted an internal modem. What's the point of having a
- portable computer if you can't telecommunicate with ease? An external
- modem is an unacceptable net increase in luggage.

- This isn't the "poor student" class, is it? ;-) Actually, those who
- would pop $600 to $1200 for a cheap second Mac as PowerBook could just
- as easily save a little longer and get a 140. (Or hunt for a 100.)

- Realistically, why do you need a portable computer to program on
- (except to test for compatibility)? You going to be coding at the
- local Burger King? ;-)

- ATTENTION: This is your nine-o'clock wake-up call!!! ;-)
-
- We're talking cheap PB here, and you're talking 20MB of Duo RAM? One
- of these things is not like the other...
-
-
- The bottom line is that the cheaper PBs are not selling nearly as well
- as the (considerably more expensive) top-of-the-line PBs. Where is
- Apple's motivation to blow R&D bucks on another cheapie?
