  11. Can someone who is familiar with hard drives answer a questions for me. 
  12. I have a external Rodine 210 drive that currently won't let me load
  13. anything new on it.  It attempts to, then hangs & locks up in the middle
  14. of loading anything on or even extracting things. I copied off to
  15. floppys some of the applications to free up space thinking it was
  16. hitting a bad block, but still no good.  I ran a hard disk test & also
  17. optimised using Norton.  Still no good. The things that are left on the
  18. drive currently run with no problems.  I am thinking of backing up the
  19. entire drive & reformatting it but what I'm afraid of is that when I go
  20. to load my stuff back on, it will do the same thing & hang & i'll be
  21. left with a dead drive.  At least it works with the things that are
  22. left.  Does anyone out there have any better suggestions or feel that
  23. when I re-format the drive, it will reset everything, load new drivers &
  24. hopefully be able to write to it.  All the diagnostic programs that i
  25. ran, read & wrote  to every block & did'nt give any errors.
