  12. I read the evaluations of the StyleWriter II in MacWorld, and was amazed
  13. at their conclusions, particularly that it outstripped the DeskWriter
  14. in grayscales (text is a no-brainer).

  16. Today I did a test. I printed the sample graphic from Superpaint 3.0
  17. (the one of a yellow pencil, bent and with a Salvador Dali-esque look
  18. to it). The StyleWriter II had by FAR the best image, with actual
  19. greyscales. Following was the DeskWriter 550C (printing in greyscale,
  20. scatter setting) and the DeskWriter (with 3.1 drivers). Speed was
  21. as follows:
  22. Best: HP DeskWriter 550C  4.75 minutes
  23.       StyleWriter II      5 minutes
  24.       HP DeskWriter       *8* minutes.

  26. Clearly, the StyleWriter II wins. (I was sad, I've long been a 
  27. proponent of the HP.)
