  30. Look harder at the solder joints on the analog board, like with a good
  31. magnifiying glass or handheld microscope, especially the joints for the
  32. in-line connectors, the flyback transformer, diodes, and the power caps.
  33. Look for cracks all the way around the central conductor.  If in doubt,
  34. resolder it.

  36. The last time my 512KE did this (about 2 years after replacing C1), I found
  37. about a half-dozen cracked solder joints, and I couldn't see any of the
  38. cracks with the naked eye.  It's been very stable since resoldering them.

  40. Then look at the connectors to the tube, both on the board and on the
  41. wire harness, if the pins are corroded, it's probably best to replace
  42. the connectors.

  44. Also, cap C1 is a popular failure, but I don't think it gives total blank.
