- Wait a minute. I think Sheldon is being misled. Yes the Duos and PB's will
- run at 832 x 624, however if you are using an Apple moniter, you must have
- a 16" to run this mode (a 14" will only do 640 x 480). Even if you have a
- multisync (like the Sony 1304), the mac will not be able to use the higher
- resolution without a second cable because of the way the mac detects what
- kind of moniter it is connected to. The reason Apple uses this facist
- method it that everything is supposed to be 72 dpi on apple monitors. No
- more, no less.
- What I want to know is: can one construct a cable to connect to a multi
- sync, so that all you have to do to change resolutions is flip a switch (and
- maybe restart)? I have ordered a Duo dock and I'd like to be able to use
- 832 x 624 without buying a 16". Of course I also ordered the Apple 14", but
- I could change my order if it were possible. What's the word?
