  12.     I have been given a Mac+, 1MB Ram, no HD. This mac doesn't work. It does power up, but I don't get any normal Mac display. It gives me 4-6
  13. very wide white bars on a black background. After a short period of time, it
  14. gets some black specks in the white bars, and makes some noise like a power
  15. saw cutting through a 2X4. I have the following questions:

  17.     1- When I was first given this, one of the SIMM sockets was broken. 
  18.     Because my place of work produces PCs, we had the equipment to
  19.     replace it and I did. Is there any possibility that some of the
  20.     traces going to the memory module were damaged? Can anybody give
  21.     me a pin-out of the Simm socket (ie Simm module pin X goes to IC 
  22.         A pin B, etc.)?

  24.     2- If it is nescessay to replace the logic board, can I use an SE
  25.     logic board instead of the Mac Plus motherboard, and gain a slot 
  26.     in the process? Shreve systems charges the same for a Mac Plus logic
  27.     board as for an SE logic Board. Are the analog boards the same?

  29.     I've been using PCs up until now, and would like to learn my way 
  30. around system 7/7.1 as well. In addition, I have a Laserwriter that I use with
  31. my PC, and that I could use with the Mac. Sorry for any ignorant questions,
  32. but I am completely unfamiliar with the hardware on the Mac, and the Larry
  33. Pina books don't seem to cover this problem. Please reply by e_mail. Thank
