- I just got a HP48SX scientific calculator. It is capable of making kermit
- transfers with other HP48's, PC's, and Macs. But they charge you 30 dollars
- for the wire to go from your modem/printer port to the HP. I'd much rather
- make one myself. I grabbed this from the faq for comp.sys.hp48:
-
- ---------
- | o o o o |
- \_______/
- ^ ^ ^ ^
- | | | \-------4 Signal GND
- | | \---------3 RX (input to HP)
- | \-----------2 TX (output from HP)
- \-------------1 Shield

- That's the config of the port on the HP. I have already fashioned a jack to
- fit it (it's an odd size that you can't buy), and finding a 9-pin mini-din
- that fits in the serial port of my LC should be no problem. And then I have
- a mere 3024 possible wire combinations to try...
-
- Can anyone provide me with a pin diagram for the modem/printer port that might
- give me some insight as to what goes where? Anyone had any related experience
- doing this? Hell, anyone have instructions?
