- Here is the way I print #10 envelopes with my StyleWriter from
- MacWrite II (although I suspect that it is the same for other programs):
-
- Page Setup is set for envelopes; I use the reduced view to lay out the
- addresses the way I want them.
-
- With the paper support panel of the SW pushed in, and having done
- nothing with the envelope yet, I print. The error message informs me
- of the lack-of-paper problem, waiting for me to continue/cancel.
-
- [next part takes some practice at first]
-
- First, turn off the 'ready' light.
- With easy access to the back slot of the printer, insert the envelope
- into the manual feed slot. There is a second or two for you to get it
- properly positioned, and then the printer will automatically pull it
- through. It is easy to load the envelope crooked here; I just eyeball
- the trailing edge of the envelope (still protruding from the slot) to
- see if it looks even. If not, just form feed it through and try to
- insert it again.
-
- When you are satisfied, turn the 'ready' light back on and tell the
- Mac you are ready to continue. Voila!
-
-
- I know this sounds like an awful lot of work, but it is pretty simple
- once you have done it a few times. Nonetheless, I would welcome mail from
- anyone who has a better way.
