- I have a Duo 230 4/120. Fired up Apple HD SC Setup, there was 8MB wasted!
- Didn't want to go through the pain of a full dump & re-format (plus there
- has been the talk of Don't Do This!!!). So I got a 3rd party HD toolkit ,
- and made a 2nd hfs partiton out of the 8MB. It's a perfect place to put
- my swap file.
-
- Wins:
- 8MB more on my main partiton (since the swapfile is gone)
- I saved 800K in my running system (2500K -> 1700) by using the 3rd party
- scsi driver
-
- Loses:
- I now have 2 HD icons taking up space on my desktop.
- I will still have to deal with the "re-format into one big happy drive"
- problem when my 8MB ram kit comes in (and thus I can turn off vm).
-
-
- FYI,
-
- dave.
